Desert Portraits
The desert has been my constant companion throughout my life in Qatar, but it was under the cloak of darkness that I discovered its most captivating face. In 2018, I began a journey to reveal what the naked eye cannot see—the mesmerizing dance between starlit skies and rolling dunes.
This ongoing odyssey has drawn me back countless times, each visit unveiling new secrets in the vast outskirts. Through long exposures and patient nights, I capture a desert that few have witnessed: a ethereal landscape where celestial light paints the ancient sands. With every return, I add new chapters to this nocturnal portrait of Qatar's wilderness, documenting the subtle interplay of darkness, light, and endless dunes.
Behind the Scenes
Navigating a sand dune in complete darkness while hauling photography equipment and climbing is no easy feat. Add to that the challenges of discovering the perfect composition and ensuring the camera focuses precisely where you want it, and you’ve got just a glimpse of the hurdles I faced while creating this series. Thanks to careful planning, preparation, and the invaluable support of my friends, I managed to make it all come together.

Special Thanks
Every milestone and achievement is built on the support and contributions of others, and this holds true for Desert Portraits. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my friends—Asif Nadeem (not pictured here), Hazem AlShakr, and Tajammal Hussain—for their invaluable help. Without their dedication and support, turning this vision into reality would not have been possible.
